Portraits for people who
perform.

Drag and cabaret portraits are their own thing. The look is already built, the character already exists, and the job of the photograph is to hold it still without flattening it.

Lighting has to work with heavy paint, wigs, latex, sequins and everything else that eats or throws light in ways a normal portrait lighting setup can’t handle.

I’ve been shooting performers for years, on studio portraits, press shots and posters for theatre and cabaret productions.

Bring the full look or bring three. We’ll shoot it properly, and you’ll come away with images that work for press, posters, socials and everything in between.

Poster and key art for theatre and cabaret productions, on request.

Before you book

Everything you might want to ask.

How many looks can I bring?

Bring the full look, or bring three. We will shoot it properly, and you will come away with images that work for press, posters, socials and everything in between.

Will the lighting cope with the look?

That is the whole job here. Lighting has to work with heavy paint, wigs, latex, sequins and everything else that eats or throws light in ways a normal portrait setup cannot handle.

Do you shoot poster and key art?

Yes. Poster and key art for theatre and cabaret productions are quoted against the brief and the run.

Where is the studio?

Cell Studios, Unit 0.9, Grosvenor Way, London E5 9NE, five minutes from Clapton Overground in East London. Ask about access when you enquire and I will tell you exactly what to expect before you travel.

The studio is one quiet room with no audience, the running order goes out before the day, you can bring one person, and the session can be lit without flash if you ask. Your name and pronouns are whatever you tell me they are.
