A queer-led studio in East London.

I’ve spent more than fourteen years photographing people who don’t always see themselves reflected well, and building a room where that stops being the case.

I work with LGBTQIA+ people, women, disabled and neurodivergent clients, artists, performers, founders, and people who simply want to feel more comfortable in front of a camera. Some arrive knowing exactly what they want. Most arrive slightly dreading it. Both are fine.

Every shoot is collaborative and carefully directed. We talk before we start, I’ll tell you what I’m seeing as we go, and nothing gets rushed. Your name, your pronouns, your body and your boundaries are part of the brief, not something to be worked around.

Inclusive is an easy word to put on a website. Here is what it means at this one.

Gender and identity. The name you give me is the name I use, on the booking, the gallery and the files. Tell me your pronouns once and that is settled. How you want to be seen is the brief; there is no house idea of what a man, a woman or anyone else should look like in a portrait. If you are changing, or between, or not interested in the question, the pictures follow you.

Neurodivergent clients. I am autistic and ADHD, so the studio runs the way I need a room to run. You get the running order before the day: what happens, in what sequence, roughly how long each part takes, so nothing on the day is a surprise. The studio is one room, one photographer, no waiting area and no audience, and it is quiet. Direction is spoken out loud and specific: where to put your hands, when to breathe out, which way to look. There is no “just be natural”. Breaks are whenever you want them, and you can bring one person with you. Studio flash is bright and sudden; if that is a problem, say so when you book and the session is lit without it.

Anything else. If something would make the day easier, put it in the booking email. It costs nothing and nobody needs a reason.
